  • Self order restaurant Cheap and delicious Our favourite chain resto if visited Tokyo

  • This Matsuya branch is significantly larger and more comfortable than the one in Shinjuku. It's also conveniently located very close to Asakusa Station, making it easily accessible on foot. This time, I decided to try their hamburger curry. The curry sauce had a sweet flavor, which was a new experience for me, but surprisingly, it was quite delicious! It turns out this dish is truly a winner. The portion was also quite generous and filling. As always, free refills for water are available, with options for both hot and cold.

  • Self order and pickup. It's cheap 24/7 curry. Not the best, but for the price and convenience it's great. Very easy to order.

  • Extremely convenient 24/7 curry house. They do some other dishes as well, but curry seems to be what it's known for. It's self service with English options. Once you finish your basket and pay at the self service machine, you get a ticket with your number and then it's a matter of monitoring the screen for your number to pop-up under collect. The staff aren't too talkative but they also don't need to be due to the self service. You only interact when you pick up the food and if you need any assistance, which I didn't at the time. They seemed to be used to foreigners so no trouble should arise. The food itself is your nice average curry with nice, sticky, steamed rice. I also had a can of asahi which paired excellently! The meal + the drink cost me around 1100 Yen (£5.50).

  • Incredible food! I ordered a green onion beef rice ball topped with a poached egg and a miso soup at 1am and it only cost ¥670 for a small bowl and the taste was amazing. There were plenty of seating and the store is clean and well air-conditioned. There are various types of condiments on the table including the red ginger. They also provide tea which is self-serviced
